Claude Rains has been a favorite performer to me ever since the first time I saw…or didn't see…him as THE INVISIBLE MAN, his first starring film. Along with that iconic role, the intelligent, intense, mannered, quirky but reliable character star was also The Phantom of the Opera, The Wolfman's father, Captain Louis Renault, Mr. Skeffington, Professor Challenger, Prince John, Napoleon Bonaparte, Julius Caesar and Mr. Jordan.
